The 2300 Arena hosted the first fightcard in Philadelphia on Saturday January 17. MarshallKaufman’s Kings Promotions promoted the seven match event titled RING WARS 21
Cuban heavyweight prospect Dainier Pero, 231lbs faced Mario. Aguilar, Mexico 293 lbs in the main event.
Beginning the eight rounder, Pero came out looking very focused and ferocious. Pero fighting in the southpaw stance worked the jab effectively to the head and especially to the mid section. Pero landed a one two. Picking his shots, Pero connected with regularity. Continuing into the second Pero landed clean shots and backed Aguilar against the ropes while the ref watched with a close eye. Aguilar was not firing back and was fortunate to finish the round on his feet. to make it out of round 2. Deciding their charge had absorbed enough punishment, Aguilar corner did not let him out for round three. With the TKO victory Pero is now 12-0 9 ko’s. Afuilar is now 23-11 18 ko’
The semi windup saw to sub five hundred heavyweights square off as Joel Caudle took on Lemir Isom-Riley in a schedule six Caudle Raleigh, NC weighed in at 252.2 and Riley Harrisburg PA 277 lbs, both started quickly trading punches. Riley appeared to be in better condition. Trained by former world ranked Travis Kaufman, Riley had more spring in his step aggressively stalking his foe. The judges score cards saw it 60-54, 60-54, 58-56 all in Riley’s favor. Riley is now 6-7 Ko’s, Caudle is now 9-12-2 6 Ko’s
JoseTorres out of Allentown PA, 118lbs was no match for Uzbekistan Otabek 123.5 who is now training in Philadelphia. Otabek won a unanimous four round decision and stayed undefeated at 2-0 1 ko. Torres 1-2
