2019 has been a most unpredictable year for Anthony Joshua. Joshua’s calm demeanor, confidence and way he goes about his business is starting to leak so many holes the room is beginning to flood.

After not wanting to go 50-50 with WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder on a purse split, Matchroom Boxing and AJ decided to make a big splash in the United States in a quest to make Joshua a true global star.

What better Way to make a splash then at the Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden, New York City.

As Floyd Mayweather Jr. has retired and Manny Pacquiao aging out at age 40 (although still going strong), Anthony Joshua and Canelo Alvarez are the Top to stars and names in boxing. Both Canelo & AJ command a kings ransom to get in the ring.

Joshua Sets up training camp in Miami instead of Brooklyn as Originally claimed and says he can breathe there.

Regardless of a video that AJ‘s team put out, I really don’t know what he did more of in Miami – make commercials and tan or train for a hungry and motivated World Class Boxer In Andy Ruiz Jr.

At every press conference and every interview before the June 1st Ruiz Fight, AJ acted cool, gave reports and fans all the time in the world and was everything you would want out of your world Heavyweight Champion. He insisted his training was going well and that he was 100% completely focused.

Now to be fair, Anthony Joshua was in a no-win situation. If he had beat Ruiz by an easy knockout in the third round, everybody would’ve said that he fought a bum. And if Andy Ruiz would have taken AJ all 12 rounds, people would’ve said Wilder would’ve easily knocked Ruiz out and that AJ is overhyped.

Biggest Upset Since Tyson/ Douglas:

The weekend of June 1, social media went bananas and Andy Ruiz Junior‘s name reached the four corners of the world arguably making him the most well known fighter in only one night.

“In talking to my non-boxing fan friends, everybody was telling me about Andy Ruiz Junior knocking out that guy – that guy that was champion from England or something”

“Even my kids friends who don’t know anything about boxing were telling me about the fat guy who now is the champion and how cool it is”

Anthony Joshua’s Says Solid:

Right after the fight, AJ was nothing short of a true champion giving respect and honor to Andy Ruiz Junior. Also in the post fight press conference and The week after the fight, Joshua continued making zero excuses and giving credit to Ruiz for a job well done. Joshua’s demeanor stayed strong and solid.

Anthony Joshua’s Holes:

Now Anthony Joshua is changing his whole entire training system, he is changing his training methods and his body to be more of a boxer than a muscleman.

He is lashing out at anyone that is doing their job and reporting honestly and fairly.

And the latest issue is everytime Andy Ruiz Junior says something like he’s going to win, Anthony Joshua gets mad at Ruiz for doing his job and actually promoting this mega fight.

Now Joshua is claiming he looked past Ruiz and was thinking about the Wilder fight.

Anthony Joshua needs to understand that he is not the champion. Andy Ruiz Junior is the heavyweight champion of the world and has most of the major belts. Ruiz is allowed to say and do almost anything he wants.

Compared to other champions of the past, Ruiz has talked the least amount of trash and been the most respectable and respectful champion.

Anthony Joshua has a lot of mending to do to close up those holes and get ready for his December 7th rematch in the desert of Saudi Arabia.

Turns out that Anthony Joshua was not only a world champion, but he has a champion Promoter and Advisor. Matchroom  Boxing’s Eddie Hearn not only helped make Anthony Joshua a top star, he helped make Anthony Joshua filthy rich and most importantly drafted a perfect contract so AJ gets to have his rematch, at his choosing, time and location- And the best part is he gets a record pay day of approximately $100 million.

Another Cool Thing is that Hearn has stuck with his guy, the lose didn’t change anything about how day to day business is run. AJ is still treated like a champ and Hearn Is brutally honest that the pressure is on AJ in December.

Anthony Joshua professionalism needs to be checked, and his motivation and training needs to go old-school Klitschko type training.

Matchroom will take care of all the fancy pyrotechnics, AJ signs and banners and fancy robes and video entrances and music. AJ needs to focus on one thing, not his Dad whispering into his ear and jogging along a crystal clear beach.

AJ might need a Gym with some dirt in the corner and some rust on the weights.
