As a great challenge in his career,  is how Saul “Canelo” Alvarez described the fight that will take place on November 2 against Sergey Kovalev, as he climbs up 2 divisions to face the dangerous light heavyweight champion.

“This fight is a great challenge. In boxing, one or two kilos is too much, now imagine seven is a lot! It`s a great risk for me. But my abilities can handle this and more. We know we can achieve this fourth title and I feel very happy and motivated. It is a lot of risk and I like that. A triumph would make me enter history among the greatest, ” Canelo  commented.

The Mexican three-time world champion recalled that his coach Eddy Reynoso was the first to think about this fight.

“Eddy began to think about the fight with one of the best at 175. After the fight with Daniel Jacobs we started looking for it.”

“Canelo” knows that there will always be detractors even if he continues piling up achievements in his successful career.

From his first steps as an amateur fighter, he always had his coach Eddy Reynoso by his side, with whom he has achieved all of his successes as a professional, along with his father Chepo Reynoso.

“He is a friend, he is my family, my compadre, he is everything. He is training other fighters and he has had world champions. He has many abilities, and he is the best coach in the world. He is a person who continues learning, checking fights and I have a lot of faith on him.”
