Panamanian, Enrique “Maravilla” Pinder, conquered the WBC bantamweight crown defeating Mexican, Rafael Herrera (he would become President of the Mexico City Boxing Commission) by unanimous decision. The fight took place at the Nuevo Panam Gymnasium in Panama city. The Referee was Waldemar Schmidt. The Judges were Mexican Ramon Berumen and Panamanian Harmodio Cedeño.
